The Essence of Lifting ⑤: Who Is Most Satisfied with Sofwave?
Sofwave suits people whose skin elasticity has weakened and who look tired, not those with heavy sagging. Learn who benefits most and when combining devices makes sense.

So who are the people who are most satisfied after getting Sofwave?
Hello, this is Dr. Cho Young-min.
Today is the final installment of the Sofwave series.
So far, I've explained how Sofwave works,
why focused ultrasound (HIFU) creates thermal columns inside the skin,
how it differs from Ulthera 1.5TD,
and why results can be even better when combined with titanium.
Today, I'd like to wrap up by answering the question I get asked most often.
“Doctor, will I see good results if I get Sofwave?”
Actually, that's a really good question.
Because it shows you're thinking about your skin before the device.
In my practice, I hear comments like these more often than you'd expect.
“I look tired in photos these days.”

“I got enough sleep, but people keep saying I look tired...”
“I haven't lost any weight, but my face looks lacking in energy.”

People who hear comments like these
tend to be more satisfied with Sofwave than you might expect.
That's because these changes
are not so much about a single wrinkle,
but more often than not, a sign that the skin's own elasticity is gradually declining.
Sofwave uses focused ultrasound (HIFU)
to create multiple thermal columns about 1.5mm deep in the dermis,
and uses that thermal stimulation to encourage the production of new collagen.

Put simply,
it isn't about creating skin that wasn't there,
but about helping the skin you already have get back to work.
That's why I describe Sofwave as
“a treatment that wakes up your skin's elasticity.”

Cartoon: a sleepy little character is reached by swirling energy from a handpiece and springs to life, while the woman wakes up surprised.
On the other hand,
in cases where sagging has progressed,
where the weight of the cheeks has shifted downward,
or where fat has loosened and the facial contour has collapsed,
Sofwave alone may fall a little short.
In these cases, Ulthera may be a better fit,
and in some cases, combining it with titanium produces far better results.
So when I consult with patients,
I look at why the skin has sagged first, rather than starting with the device.
Because you have to understand the cause to find the answer.
Sometimes I also get this question:
“Doctor, do you like Sofwave?”
I do.
But what I like even more
is giving Sofwave to the people it's truly a good match for.
Actually, there's quite a big difference between the two.
During consultations, some people say,
“Just recommend the single best device for me.”
Hmm...
That would make my job a lot easier.
After all, I'd only have to be good at one thing...^^
But skin isn't that simple.
That's why, even if it takes a little extra effort,
I always examine the skin first,
find the cause,
and only then choose the device.
Fortunately, we have all the latest high-end equipment,
so we're in a strong position to deliver the best possible results!
Lifting is not magic.
The next morning, looking in the mirror,
“Doctor, I feel twenty years old again!”
Anyone who says that...
I have yet to meet a single one.^^
(If there were such a treatment, I'd book it first. Please, somebody let me in on it...)
Instead, about two months later, when comparing with old photos,
“Oh? That's a lot better than I expected.”
I really do hear that quite often.
Personally, I actually prefer that kind of change.
Gradually,
naturally,
and without looking obviously done.
Good lifting is the kind that makes people around you say,
“You look great lately,”
rather than ask,
“Did you have something done?”
Through this series,
I hope you now have a clearer understanding of Sofwave.
There are many good devices.
Ulthera is good,
Thermage is good,
and titanium is good too,

Sofwave is good too.

But personally, I
care more about good results than good devices.
In the end, I believe what creates results
isn't any single device,
but the process of finding the approach that fits your skin.
It may seem like a roundabout path,
but in my clinic, I have seen that route turn out to be the fastest again and again.
And you know what I always say, right?
Lifting is all about devotion and care.
The price gap between a bargain clinic and a place like ours
comes from that care. Please don't forget it.
Thank you for reading this long post today.
This concludes the Sofwave series.
I'll be back next time with more stories to help you understand your skin a little more easily. :)

Frequently Asked Questions
Which skin conditions does Sofwave work best for?
Sofwave is effective for people whose skin elasticity has declined, making them look tired or their face appear lacking in vitality. Satisfaction tends to be high when a general loss of elasticity, rather than a single wrinkle, makes the face look worn out.
How does Sofwave work?
Sofwave uses focused ultrasound (HIFU) to create thermal columns at a depth of about 1.5mm in the dermis. This thermal stimulation within the skin helps the skin naturally produce new collagen on its own.
Is Sofwave alone enough if skin sagging or cheek laxity is severe?
No. If skin sagging is severe, or if the cheeks have descended and the contour has changed due to fat laxity, a standalone treatment may fall short. In these cases, combining devices such as Ulthera or titanium is a better fit.
When can I see the results of Sofwave?
Natural changes are usually noticeable about two months after treatment rather than right away. As collagen builds up over time, you can expect your facial firmness to gradually improve in a subtle, natural way.
